Inspection during manufacture is one of the
main techniques for material and equipment quality assessment. It is,
therefore, of primary importance for clients who are acquiring equipment
for new projects, expansions or replacements and do not have their own
inspection teams.
These inspections are carried out by BBL, at the contractors’ facilities,
to assure compliance with contracts and specifications, reporting divergences
and supervising corrective actions.

Typical inspections include:
• Setting up inspection plans, mutually agreed
upon by clients and contractors
• Visits to evaluate the manufacturing process,
according to the inspection plans
• Examining all necessary documents required
for a good performance of the inspections,
including purchasing orders, inspection procedures, specifications,
codes, contractors’
procedures, approved drawings, models of control or testing
reports and others
• Checking the feasibility to carry out all
necessary testing to comply with codes and specifications
accepted by the contractor, which should supply all necessary
devices and measuring
and testing instruments, periodically calibrated
• Auditing procedures and checking personnel
qualification to perform special techniques such as
welding and nondestructive testing
• Elaboration of complete inspection reports,
detailing results, occurrences, irregularities,
divergences and corrective actions taken
